About DCS Philanthropic Partners
Doug Seaberg, Founder and Principal
Four decades of frontline and management experience guiding fundraisers and institutions toward advancement programs built on authentic, curiosity-driven philanthropic partnerships and informed by metrics and data-driven strategy.
Why I believe in this work
For nearly 40 years, I have been privileged to help donors and institutions discover shared purpose through meaningful philanthropic partnerships. Throughout my career, curiosity has been the catalyst—an authentic desire to understand people, their stories, their values, and what brings them joy in giving. Then going further to find alignment with institutional mission, working together to co-create philanthropic opportunities that are meaningful to the donor, the institution, and to the people and values they serve.
Today, as a coach and advisor, I bring that same curiosity-driven approach—anchored in my Partnership Journey Model—to help frontline fundraisers and advancement leaders deepen donor relationships, strengthen strategy, and elevate their impact.
Experience With Independent Schools, Higher Education, and Nonprofits
My advancement career spans nearly four decades across nationally recognized independent schools, colleges, universities, and cultural institutions. I have served as both a frontline fundraiser and a senior advancement leader—guiding teams, shaping programs, and maintaining an active portfolio of principal, major, and planned gift prospects.
Across my career, I have helped lead campaigns that have raised more than $300 million and have personally closed more than $60 million in principal and major gifts, while developing strategies across major, planned, annual, and campaign giving platforms.
